Happy Valentine's Day!

I have been meaning to post this for weeks.  Really. I actually had a post in my draft folder titled Happy New Year (Merry Christmas and Happy New Year by the way), but looking at the picture it was really destined to be posted today.

Now I know that I am a little late to the washi tape party.  By about two years, I think. When I saw the crux pattern I could no longer resist.  I had the tape a few weeks and finally had a chance to use it when my favorite Aunt's birthday came around.  Brown wrapping paper and washi are truly meant for each other.

Wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day!

Craft It Forward - Thank You!

Yesterday I received mail; Craft It Forward mail from Juliette.   The package totally made my day and was so thoughtfully put together.

I loved everything, but these tags are my absolute favorite.  I just love their simplicity.  Now I just have to find a way to show them off, you know subtly.

This card that Juliette included says it all.

Confetti

A while back I found a cool idea for gift wrapping via one of Juliette's pins.  When I saw all that confetti I knew I had found the perfect wrapping idea for my best friend's birthday present (we use to hide confetti in each others gifts).  This was the year to reinstate the tradition or at least allude to it.

.
Packing paper, double sided tape, hole-punch art paper, sprinkle confetti.  Done.  Wait, forgot one thing.  Vacuum. :)

Pink

Whenever Sam gets invited to a girl's birthday party I am always excited.  Not only do I get to buy a gift for a girl (not a Bakugan or Beyblade in sight), but I get to wrap it as well.  The other side of the toy store is another world for me.  The only things I recognize from my days are Barbie and Playmobil and even they look different. In the store my son mumbled something about Littlest Pet Shop and went right.  I was left in a sea of pink and a text message from the girl's mother of what she might like.

After much pondering I found something that I thought I might have played with and called it a day.  The fun for me is to wrap the gift.  I first discovered pom-poms at so'isses and have made a few since. It ended up a little big for the box, but it was all pink and that is all that matters.

Cold Days, Sunny Days, So-So Days and Birthdays

It's been a while, over two weeks to be exact.  Much longer than I ever intended to be away (at least unannounced) from my blog.  Not that I didn't think about it. I did, everyday and sometimes hourly.  Amidst the cold days, sunny days, so-so days and birthdays it just sort of happened, but I am back now. :)

In February I enrolled in the Blogging Your Way e-course and classes started on February 28th. The course is being taught by the lovely Holly Becker of Decor8  and Leslie Shewring of  A Creative  Mint.  These two ladies are a creative force to be reckoned with and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be exposed to their blogging (& life) wisdom during the four week duration of the course.  The "classroom" is huge with bloggers from all over world taking part and enhancing the experience by bringing their great talent into the mix. The past two weeks of lessons have given me a lot to think about and I expect there will be more food for thought in the remaining two weeks.  Today we received another set of materials (styling, photo processing and flower arranging)  from Leslie and I can't wait for dive in.

Last week Sam was invited to a birthday party and instead of going for the in-store gift wrap service, which is totally uninspired, I took matters into my own hands.  I loved it, Sam loved it, the recipient didn't pay much attention to it, but his mom really dug it. On a related note, I must be the only person in blogland that doesn't have a stash of washi tape.  I hope to rectify that over the weekend.

Hope you have a good one.
